5 Noticeable Benefits that You can Get Out of Bodybuilding

The Benefits of Bodybuilding

When taking up bodybuilding for the first time, you may notice some benefits after a few months. You may feel more energetic and seem to have more self-confidence. You will have the resolve to complete task that seemed impossible just a few months ago. Below is just a short list of the many benefits that can be gained by taking up bodybuilding.

Increased Strength

When you take up bodybuilding, you will start to carry weights to build up your muscles. Your muscle strength also increases as you steadily increase the poundage. As a result of the stress placed on your muscles, they become more efficient and stronger. An increase in strength also helps prevent muscle atrophy as you become older. Muscle atrophy is defined as the wasting or loss of muscle tissue that results from disease or the lack of use.

Prevent injuries

Having stronger muscles will lead to a better control of your reflexes, balance and body coordination. You can perform daily more efficiently and effectively. Having stronger muscles, bones and tendons that is provided by taking up bodybuilding, will lessen the risks of injuries.

Helps Control Your Weight

When you take up bodybuilding either to put on mass or to lose weight, you will be following a proper diet. You will avoid junk foods and foods that are high on sugar and calories. When training regularly, you will increase your metabolic rate. This will cause your body to burn more calories throughout the day.

Improves Appearance

One of the most noticeable effects of bodybuilding is that your appearance will change for the better. As you train regularly, you will notice that your muscles will become bigger and more defined. After a few months, people around you will start making comments, as they will be able to see the marked changes in you. Your posture, the way you walk will all change for the better, as you will feel more confidant of your body.

Strengthens Bones

Osteoporosis is a disease where bones become brittle. This usually happens when you grow older. Bodybuilding delays the onset of this symptom. This is because, when you carry weights, stress is placed on your bones. This causes the bones to become stronger.

In conclusion, this is just a few of the many benefits that can be derived from taking up bodybuilding. To find out more on how to get started without spending months on instructions and guides that do not work, visit the link below now.

Bodybuilding in College: It Can Be Done!

Transitioning from high school to college is difficult for most people, but bodybuilders may find that being away from their home gym and kitchen is extra tough. The first week or so may be a little intimidating, but bodybuilders can stay successful in college with high levels of dedication and motivation. When you enter college, set your goals for the year and try to motivate yourself to stick to your workout and diet plans.

College meal plans vary, but nothing about college food is good for a bodybuilder. Many colleges offer plans that include three meals a day at most, but your diet will probably call for more meals each day of smaller amounts of food. Don't load up at the cafeteria if that's not what you are used to doing! Instead, invest in a small refrigerator for your dorm room. Set aside some extra money each week for food, and schedule your classes so that you have enough time to eat. Most professors don't mind if you carry a snack to class, so if you must take a class that's during your normal mealtime, have some energy bars or protein shakes on hand as a back up plan. When you do eat in the cafeteria, make healthy meal choices. It's ok to splurge on one or two rewards, such as pizza or ice cream every week, but in general, stick to the foods you would normally eat at home-eggs, grilled chicken, bran cereals, salads, cottage cheese, and the like-even if there's a buffet of other things available.

One of the first things you should do when you get to college is explore the gym and weight facilities. Note the hours of operation-most schools are aware that students have busy schedules, so your gyms will probably open early in the morning and still be open late at night, but get a copy of the schedule so you never have to question the times. If the gym is too small or inconvenient for you schedule-wise, check out the gyms in town to see if any would better suit your needs. Students even get discount memberships at some places.

Lastly, be conscious of your other habits. Continue to get enough sleep even with your new workload, and be aware that activities such as smoking will only have an adverse effect on your health. A big part of college for many students is drinking, and you will probably be faced with this as well. If you are just bodybuilding for the sake of looking and feeling good, a few beers every week won't hurt you as long as you are responsible, but drinking is out of the question for competitive bodybuilders. Not only will it pack on the fat, but drinking will also cause you to lower your levels of testosterone and become dehydrated. Volunteer to be the designated driver instead, and you will find that it is easy to fit in while still maintaining your healthy lifestyle.

Keeping your bodybuilding diet and fat loss goals.

Fall of last year you figured a donut once in an awhile or some other fat and sugar laden nasty food wouldnt hurt. Your excuse it is the muscle-bulking season or you will work it off. The next thing you know your waist measurement is almost the same size of your chest. You look in the mirror and you see your v-taper look like a square block. You say to your self what the heck happen to all my hard work in the gym? Well all of your hard work is still there if you have been training hard, but it is covered in fat. My better half, my wife once asked me when I was expecting? At that moment, I knew it was time to shed the fat.

Well the first thing to do is to make a final goal. For example, the abdominal muscles showing by May. I used to put pictures of ab shots on my refrigerator to help keep me focused. Now I also keep a watchful eye in the mirror.
When I drop an inch or two off my waist I reward myself. And not with eating a whole pie or chocolate cake. Usually I buy some kind of hiking gear, camera equipment or clothing.
I generally drink two liters of water per day. You can read an article I wrote about water and bodybuilding by clicking on this link . http://www.nature-boy-bodybuilding.com/natureboybodybuilding/id9.html.
Make sure you keep a supply of healthy foods around you to help prevent eating some junk food when you do get hungry. Fresh fruit, nuts, non-fat cottage cheese, you get the idea.
When you start your diet dont go crazy eating little to nothing. If you follow this practice you will lose all the muscle you worked so hard to build. I cycle my carbohydrates and protein around my workout days. I eat the carbs during my bodybuilding workout days and carb deplete on non-bodybuilding workout days. I will increase the protein on the nonworkout days.
Here is a summary of the topics above:

·Use pictures to keep focused on your main goal.
·Reward yourself when you meet your in-between goals.
·Drink plenty of water.
·Always keep plenty of healthy foods around to snack on.
·Dont go crazy dieting.

Make sure that you keep on the right path and you will see your goal of abdominal muscles showing when the warm weather returns. Otherwise your spouse may do like mine and start taking measurements for maternity clothes.

Know your bodybuilding supplement - BCAA's

BCAA stands for branched chain amino acids and is increasingly being recognized as an important supplement in the field of sports nutrition. In short the term refers to three essential amino acids - leucine, isoleucine and valine.

Amino acids are widely known as the building blocks of protein. When protein food is eaten it gets digested into individual amino acids and short chains of amino acids that are sufficiently small to be absorbed into the bloodstream. They are then used by the body to build and repair tissues amongst other things.

Amino acids are split between those classed as essential and those labelled non-essential. This simply means that essential amino acids cannot be made by the body, whereas non-essential amino acids can. There are nine essential amino acids and each must be obtained from the diet. The nine essential amino acids are histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine.

Non-essential amino acids are just as important as the essential variety and the term simply means they can be made by the body from vitamins and other amino acids. The non-essential amino acids are alanine, arginine, asparagine, aspartic acid, cysteine, cystine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, proline, serine and tyrosine.

The BCAA's are especially important to athletes because they are metabolized in the muscle rather than the liver. This means that they can be used either to build new proteins or be burned as fuel to create energy. Supplementing with BCAA's has been shown to result in measurable gains in both muscle strength and size. Taken before a workout BCAA's can improve performance and delay the onset of fatigue. They also operate as anabolic agents allowing the body to burn fat and not muscle.

As a supplement that has no reported side effects, branched chain amino acids offer many benefits to the serious bodybuilder.

Know your bodybuilding supplement - nitric oxide

Nitric oxide is a free form gas produced by the body in order to communicate with other cells. It is created when enzymes break down the amino acid arginine. The main benefit of nitric oxide is its role in controlling the circulation of blood and regulating activities of the brain, lungs, liver, stomach and other organs. It also helps in the control of blood pressure, dilates blood vessels to cause penile erection and is used by the immune system to fight viral, bacterial and parasitic infections.

It is the ability of nitric oxide to increase blood flow that is of most interest to bodybuilders who can benefit as follows:

1. The increased blood flow delivers more nutrients to the muscle cells thus helping them to grow during the adaptation and recovery phase.

2. Its ability to reduce inflammation helps muscles that have been subjected to extreme stresses.

Given its close relationship with arginine care should be taken in applying small doses and increasing them gradually until an optimum level is reached. Bear in mind that many protein powders and other supplements are fortified with amino acids so check the labels carefully. The manufacturer's instructions should be followed in all instances.

Know your bodybuilding supplement - HMBRichard MitchellHMB stands for beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate. It is a metabolite of leucine, one of the body's essential amino acids, with small amounts found naturally in catfish, grapefruit and alfalfa.

It has become very popular amongst athletes in recent years mainly due to the role it plays in the synthesis of muscle tissue. HMB has been subjected to many studies that have reached some interesting conclusions. One study showed that supplementation with 3 grams of HMB per day increased participants' strength by a factor of three compared with placebo takers. Supplementing with the same amount also saw a reduction in bad cholesterol compared with the placebo group.

Clearly there is significant scientific backing for claims that HMB can speed up muscle growth, strength, endurance and fat loss. There are no known side effects when taken properly in amounts ranging from 3-5 grams each day. It should be taken before training or at bed time for best results.

Know your bodybuilding supplement - methoxyisoflavone

Flavones are the latest big supplement to hit the market. Methoxyisoflavone is a non-hormonal anabolic compound that has been shown to reduce cortisol levels, increase protein synthesis and improve recovery from exercise.

During tests that led to the issuing of a patent for methoxyisoflavone the following findings were noted:

1. It was found to be more anabolic than anabolic steroids without any of the side effects.

2. It increased lean body mass significantly within 30 days while producing no androgenic effect.

3. Cortisol levels were reduced and nitrogen levels increased considerably.

Flavones can be safely taken by men and women who want to boost their lean muscle gains without risking the hazards associated with taking anabolic steroids. A dose of 400-800 mg can be taken daily, split over two doses. Its effects can be enhanced by taking it with protein due to the ability of protein to force nutrients into muscle cells.

Methoxy can also be stacked safely with ZMA to maximise testosterone gains, or ecdysterone to increase protein synthesis, maintain a positive nitrogen balance and keep the body in an anabolic state.

Planning An Effective Bodybuilding Routine For Your Lifestyle

You can have all the knowledge in the world about bodybuilding but if you don't have a plan you can follow and actually do it you will remain just another muscle wannabe nerd!

So in Lesson Four we are going to cover important aspects of putting together an executable and followable bodybuilding routine to gain muscle as fast as you humanly can!

If you missed any of the previous lessons you can get them here: http://www.gainmuscleandlosefat.com

Bodybuilding RoutineTip-32:You Must Be Consistent.

When putting together a bodybuilding routine you can follow you need to make it so you can consistently follow it! It is nice to have all these lofty intentions of how your going to change your life completely to gain muscle but this is not realistic and ends up in failure! When making a plan take into consideration your commitments and realistically assess when will be the most likely time you should workout in order to always follow through! The same goes for your eating schedule!Be creative!

Bodybuilding Routine Tip-33:Make Your Bodybuilding Routine As Easy As Possible

I am not talking about your training here! But when it comes to making a workout and eating plan you can stick to, the easier it is for you to follow the more likely you will follow it! For example if you are not one to cook, don't make your schedule to cook for three hours every morning before work. If you are not one to get up real early then don't make a schedule that has you working out at 5 am in the morning before work!

Bodybuilding Routine Tip-34:Plan Ahead

Make your schedule before you start your weight gain program and know it before you start! if you don't plan ahead chances are way too high you won't follow through with all your meals and workouts!

Bodybuilding Routine Tip-35:Stick To Your Plan!

Stick to your bodybuilding routine no matter what! A plan is there for a reason.

Stick to it, be consistent and you will see results! Mentally prepare to do this and see yourself following through at night before you go to bed.I pyche myself up for squat day for a full day before by seeing myself squatting my goal weight in my mind!

Bodybuilding Routine Tip-36:Consider A Training Partner Or Coach To Keep You Accountable

When someone else is relying on you or you make a commitment to a training partner or coach you are much more likely to stick to your bodybuilding routine!

Bodybuilding Routine Tip-37: Educate Yourself On Weight Gain And Muscle Growth To Keep Motivated.

By continually reading and learning about bodybuilding you keep yourself motivated and involved in your plan.

Bodybuilding Routine Tip-38:Continually Challenge Yourself.

Dont shy away from the challenge you face in bodybuilding, face it head on!Plan your weights and goals ahead of time and take progress measurements to motivate yourself by your successes!

Bodybuilding Routine Tip-39:Make Your Routine Interesting.

Most bodybuilding routines can get real stale faster than you are putting on muscle by following them! Don't be afraid to change up your bodybuilding routine but of course this has to be done in an effective way. My Four Phase Plan lays this all out for you so your bodybuilding routine is always new, challenging and mindless to follow.

Bodybuilding Routine Tip-40:Keep Accurate and Scheduled Measurements of Your Progress.

Right from the start of any bodybuilding routine keeping accurate measurements is a must!

By keeping accurate and scheduled progress measurements you can quickly and easily determine what you are doing wrong and what you are doing right.

My book Underground Mass Secrets takes you through doing this step by step and is the only source I know of that provides a point by point trouble shooting section to help you quickly correct your mistakes and quit wasting time doing torture sessions in the gym for nothing!

Bodybuilding Routine Tip-41:Keep a Training And Diet Log.

This goes along with keeping accurate and scheduled measurements of your progress. It also helps you to look back and see what you have been doing in your bodybuilding routine that has given you good results. Another benefit of having a training and diet log is it prevents you from cheating on yourself.

By writing down everything that you are eating you are less likely to eat junk food you did not have in your plan.My course comes with a great easy to follow system for tracking your progress, measuring bodyfat and recording your training and diet to ensure fast muscle gain without spinning your wheels!

Getting Fit Without Expensive Gym Equipment

Getting fit without gym membership or exercise equipment is easy. The first thing to remember is to try and eat healthier. That doesn't mean you have to start one of those ridiculous fad diets. It just means to pay more attention to what you are eating. If you are eating something that you know isn't good for you, then eat less of it, drink less soda, eat less sweets. Drink lots of water. The great thing about water is that it keeps you hydrated (which is really important while you are exercising) and it gives your body the illusion that it is full, I used this trick a lot when I was dieting, if you start to get hungry but it is too early to eat again just drink a glass of water. If you don't really like water, they have all kinds of low calorie powders now that you can add to your water to make it juice.

The second thing is to start an exercise routine. You don't need any fancy equipment for this. The only thing you may want to buy is an aerobics dvd of some sort. The only reason for this is that it you need a program that will keep your heart rate elevated for your workout. It doesn't matter what kind of dvd it is as long as it is some kind of aerobic workout. Try to find one you think you might enjoy, this will make it easier for you. You should do this tape at least 3 times a week, 5 times a week if you can handle it, then after your aerobic workout you will want to do some muscle strengthening exercises to keep you toned. You can do sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, squats, and jumping jacks. There are plenty more, that is just to name a few. If you follow this plan for a couple of weeks you will start to see very noticeable results.
